Default broken vacuum advance diaphragm.

my vacuum advance module broke off at the base of the cone. anyone have a spare one they want to sell?

Sorry, the one on the engine I pulled out was junk. In Kirby's book he talks about how to make one using a Chevy part though.

ya know you dont need a Vac advance on the dizzy, if you got standalone EMS.

just lock the plate, and set up an appropriate curve, and you can adjust curve while you drive,( course someone else should help driving) or vs-vs.

I just replaced mine a couple of weeks ago. The diaphragm in the old one was rock hard and leaking. I got a new one from Auto Parts Warehouse for $60.95 with free shipping.

I tried the alteration mentioned in Kirby's book and although it worked somewhat, the new rubber was stiffer and had a ridge molded in that made it pop at one point instead of a smooth advance of the plate. I ordered the original and it works perfect. Sometimes things will work when re-engineered but this one did not work for me and I wasted a lot of time.

i ended up getting a new one from auto parts wherehouse with free shipping for 60 bucks. thanks twerth.

got it in the mail today, which means ill be reassembling my top end tomorrow.
