Default Cabriolet fuel tank removal

I’ve already taken out and cleaned/ painted the surge tank. I’ve removed the lines to the tank and the big metal cross brace. Also the filler neck. There’s no straps like a traditional tank and this thing won’t budge. I have to be missing something?

I wonder if it's simply adhered to whatever rubberized product between the body and the tank? I've typically seen a yoga mat type product. After so many years, you'd think there was some serious adhesion?

Try getting a lever (careful not to damage tank) in at both sides of the tank and keep wiggling to break the adhesion. They are always well stuck in there.

Cheers
