Is that an iSimple device? How do you like the sound quality?
BTW good job on the LEDs.
Sound quality is fantastic with the standard speakers. The system was easy to install and very easy to remember how to work it . I have also done a custom install on my 04 XK8 and that also looks and works great and on the xjs I have made the steering wheel buttons work and added a multi cd/mp3 player in the boot as it had a factory fitted one. The led conversion was very complex but you do not need that for the head unit I just wanted to make it all match and see the dash lighting
I went ahead with Pioneer that has multiple backlight options and it seems to look fine in the dash.
Are you happy with your Pioneer? Would you recommend it?
Sorry for being off topic. Maybe you or somebody else can help me. I'm searching for a new stereo. I've been reading reviews about Pioneer decks but they are useless hype. All the positives are covered and they rarely mention the drawbacks. The DMH-1500NEX head unit landed on my short list. From all the blogs that I've read one stood out. The blogger was hyper critical about all brands and put me on the fence. Well this DMH-1500NEX double din review was OK until I've reached the shortcomings section. Does it really take 30s to load? How hard is to install these units anyways?
yeah, it’s a shame, they are VERY aesthetically pleasing. But with no Applecarplay, back up camera and other amenities, it’s not worth the cost. It’s 1586.00 dollars. The best Alpine single din in my XJS and E cost 300 bucks and the best (at the time) Alpine double din wireless applecarplay/w camera was 800. I can’t justify the 1600 dollar price tag for a sub-par unit
If you read the reviews, I think you would be upset spending over $400 on that.
The quality seems questionable, which at that price is unacceptable. There is also a repeated frustration with Bluetooth access (and without a CD, that's what you'll be listening to most of the time) and forgotten sound settings, which also seem to be a pain to access.
