Well, congrats M90power. I didn't think you would ever get this daunting job done. I thought you were a bit crazy and now I know you are because you painted the Cragers flat black! lol
Cary on. This had been entertaining to say the least.

depends on the race. straight line automatic transmission dominates.
through the twisties its not as great, but really depends on the gearing and stall. my 3k stall 2.93 setup in my other car is great for twisty bits. just drop it in second gear and youre good to go

Just curious - did you ever hit up the group here for assistance troubleshooting your car before going this route?

I was just wondering how long you ran the v12 befor swapping it out? Did you have carbs on it or fuel inj?

My $500 xjs convertible doesnt run. I thought eliminating the fuel inj and replacing distributor (mine is shot) and installing carb might be the way to go befor trashing v12 and installing SBC engine? Im a ex muscle car guy and I like the idea of the simplicity of the SBC, having said that v12 is pretty cool if it can be simplified. I also dont want to spend $ on v12 just to toss it later.

well if you want to put carbs on it, you can always sell them if it doesnt fix the problem
