chassis diff of face lift car?
does anyone know if the stamping of the floor pan, more specifically of the transmission tunnel is different on the late model 92 -96 xjs's versus all other early one's? I purchased a kit to convert it to a small block chevy and the trans mount supplied does not line up at all.

I can't say for certain but I think the floor pan *was* changed in 1993-ish to accommodate the 4L80E transmission as used behind the 6.0 V12 engines.
Or perhaps changed right at the beginning of facelift production in *anticipation* of using the 4L80E ?
Hopefully others will chime in with a better answer
Cheers

yeah, apparently the tunnel is different. I've found a supplier for the correct mount and am sending back the old one for a refund. the new mount will generally be much wider and with different mounting hole placement to line up with this odd year jag. apparently both the 92 and 93 have some unique attributes.
