If you use a size larger you'll want to crimp them on to makemsure it is all tight... Press on are fine wirh matching hose and pipe. Crimp them on top and you can make the fit even tighter...
Got it now but 'I would have thought that' a 'Crimp Ferrule' and a 'Push on Ferrule' were made of different materials and could only be used for one thing or the other.
The ones in my pictures a couple of pages back are push on and crimpable... So you can either use them for low pressure setups or high pressure setups. The ~3.5 Bar the pump makes is not high pressure, so you can use them to make the next size hose fit and then crimp them...
Although I think the 8 or 9 mm hose fits the normal hard piping as well as the rail piping... Should be a little bit of expansion in the rubber hoses...
Is it possible to buy Flexible Hydraulic Hose about 2ft in length OA that can be bent into this shape without 'Kinking'
The Loop part need not be quite so tight as long as the ends can be kept straight and are not more than 2ins apart and the inside diameter of the hose is not less than 25mm.
Is it possible to buy 'Non Kink' Hydraulic Hose to recreate this fitting without incorporating the Metal Pipe.
There would just be the fitting Crimped on each end.
That Metal Bend is just a 'mock up' of Two Pieces of steel pipe, tack Welded together as a pattern in the hope of getting it replicated by a Hydraulic Shop.
But since my local one closed down (some years ago) the nearest one to me, does not do any pre-forming with Steel Pipe.
Although my nearest one an hour away, is willing to crimp the ends on to some hydraulic pipe but won't guarantee it won't kink.
You don't need meters/yards of it, I think say a couple of feet would do... Say around 50-60 cm. There is enough space there, if it is only for a "bodge" to make sure the engine doesn't have any issues, then I'd not worry about the length.
There is not a massive amount of Space in the place where its got to go.
But do you know what would happen, if the Oil was unable to travel through the by-pass Pipe, as once the under tray is in place, it will be out of sight for a while.
OB the other option is to use braided hose and screw on JIC fittings, I did this with my new transmission cooler hoses. You can also get braided to hard pipe adapters not sure if they come that big but even if they didn't SS braided hose is mighty tough.

The engine would seize and the bearings throughout would be ruined. OB, I side with the WoOz here: buy the correct oil cooler and pipes, if you are going to keep the car. Or, and this is quite Ok too, go to these people: Mocal Oil Coolers : Oil cooling products for automotive, aviation, marine and industrial applications
and buy an oil cooler kit, complete with cooler and fit that in place of the OEM one. This will save you about 300 quid! If you are going to keep the car, why bother spending time and money on a bodge when you will have to buy the real thing anyway? I think the shakedown idea is a bit of a red herring!
Does anyone know the Tread Size and Fitting Size of this Cone Fitting that goes into the Oil Cooler Pipes under the Radiator where the Rubber Pipes from the Oil Cooler used to fit.
