Collector Value Difference for Really Early XJS?
Hi,
Does anyone know whether there is much of a difference in collector value between an XJS made before September 10th 1975 (the launch date), an XJS made after September 10th 1975 and an XJS made in 1976?
Should I keep chasing lower serial numbers or not worry about it? I already have a 1975 XJS made after the launch date and a 1976 XJS. There are a lot of other XJS versions I could chase, like an XJ-SC targa convertible (Why did I ever sell mine???) or a facelift XJS in topaz beige with a 4.0 liter engine.
Thanks,
Andy

Valuations for one-off cars are always tricky. I think a lot will depend on whether the documentation clearly shows that all modifications were made by Aston Martin Tickford. There might also be quite the price difference for the exact same car depending on which country you want to sell it in.
I always scare myself when I see what Jaguar XJS convertibles sell for in Germany. The most expensive one on www.mobile.de is 48500 Euros.

.
yes its mine, had it for 23yrs. RHD.
i have a 2hr video VHS, of complete rebuild.
Aston Martin did the original conversion from coupe to roadster for Jaguar, Aston was in deep money problems back then, Jag helped them stay afloat!.
, i made some mods of my own preference!
lots of stories that go with it!
