Compatible Intake manifold ?
Curiosity, a gentleman here in Vancouver BC, is parting out his 1986 XJS. Prices are just too reasonable. What I'm looking at are the intake manifolds. I don't need them but here is a chance to buy and spend the time to improve their looks. ( smooth and polish ) Install when done. Probably rebuild what ever should be done. But will they fit, are they the same as on my 89 Marrelli ign model ? Seems like a great opportunity. The " amateur " type finish on these have always bothered me. probably a few other parts that I should be looking at, but one at a time.
Incase anyone out there is in need of compatible parts for their XJS craigslist, vancouver, BC, auto parts, type in jaguar. His prices are very reasonable.
Thanks ahead of time.

I have two v12 cylinder heads I bought 2yrs ago... Shipping was cute. To date, I have disassembled one, bagged and oiled valves, springs, etc,,, have yet to lap a single valve... BUT I have big plans, lol
I would say,,, get some stuff! Especially if you have room for it. I'm struggling with limited room in a NYC one bedroom - at Max capacity, lol

back a few years , when decided to move to Texas, a had three (3) complete Jag V12 engines , two FI, one carby, advertised to sell, NO sale, well when finally moving out of building , loaded into truck went to scrapyard/recycle, and watched them be ripped to shreds in machine(i almost cried)!
and two GM 400 trannys, yup gone also!
lets not forget , old JUNK is just junk!

I was forced to do the same with the left overs from the remnants of 50V12’s I had. I had a little more time and stripped them. Selling all the aluminum as “clean”” ( that simply meant all steel and iron removed, pressure washed big gobs of grease and oil) the cranks rods etc just became scrap steel.
I wound up keeping only 3, two pre HE and 1 HE engine and Trans.

Those are MY manifolds damnit! I'm sure we're gawking at the same ads on craigslist?
I have a spare set, one day I intend to have the interior sandblasted and/or extruded to smooth out the flow, a shop in California will do this for $1500 US on a set. Then coat in chrome-like ceramic heat resistant coating for a minor HP boost and proper look.
