Convert my XJS to Manual or sell XJS and get Ferrari 328?

with the trials and tribulations of a manual transmission swap we've seen documenting on this forum, and if youre paying someone to do the swap, i can see the cost moving into 5 digits. that plus a pristine xjs (also 5 digits), and youre almost into 328 territory (or 308?).
and i know this isn't the original question, but the xjs is much more practical than a 328.
all that said, if i had the spare cash, i'd get the ferrari and table the swap.

328 are definitely on the way up in price terms and expected to continue to rise. Nice GTS models are a minimum of £40,000 in the UK at the moment.
So, I agree that the money is completely different for a manual XJS conversion compared to a 328.
If you want a 328 and what is currently considered to be a good investment, just buy one now.
If you want an interesting project but one that probably won't see a return on your money for a good few years, do the XJS conversion.

I'd stay with the XJ-S. A drivable, daily useable car. Capable of taking a traffic jam or a commute to work...
The Ferrari will need lots of tender loving care, many hours of fine tuning and won't really stand up to traffic as well as an XJ-S...
If you just want something to gain value: Ferrari.
If you want something you can enjoy more often: Jaguar.
Just my €0.02

I've seen in your posts that you used a T5 in your manual conversion - were you able to modify the original rear mount to fit up to the T5 or did you have to create/fabricate a whole new rear mount?
Also, what did you use/make/modify for your spigot bearing?
Regards
Andy.

I'm not sure what the swap costs or if it's cost effective, but as a former Ferrari owner I can say this: if your a city driver with lots of traffic lights, stay with the Jag, if you are an open road driver the Ferrari is okay as long as you drive it in medium range gears (for legal speed limits), you'll probably never need high-gear unless your racing or on the Autobahn! You can't put it in high and chug along at 65-70 mph, unless you enjoy cleaning spark plugs on a daily basis! Just my opinion, others have theirs. Buying a Ferrari is just the first step, keeping up with it is another!
