Convertible hood help please
Hi all.
I have just replaced the rear speakers in my 91 pre facelift convertible. I didn’t remove the hood pump just loosened it to get the speaker out. I started putting it back together this morning and the hood decided to close on its own it got to the closed position and the pump didn’t cut out so I had to pull the fuse out. Now if I put the fuse in the pump will run doesn’t matter if the key is in or not and also if the hand brake is on or not gear position again doesn’t matter the pump will run. Was working all fine before hand. I assume it’s the hood control module DAC4404 that’s decided to give up. Any ideas please.
Rob.

Rob,
If all you did was move the pump, I'd be looking at the integrity of the pump wiring and plug first. It seems a strange coincidence that the hood control module would fail without interference, on the day you moved the pump.
Maybe disconnect the multiplug on the module, disconnect the pump plug and carefully check the pump wiring all the way to the module plug.
Good luck
Paul
