Convertible intro brochure - bodywork
All, there exists a simple black and white (plus red) leaflet / brochure detailing the bodywork changes made to the XJ-S convertible compared to the coupe. (Not to be confused with the work done on the cabriolet by Lynx.) Anybody have it or a link to the download, looks like I have lost mine.

Doug,
Jaguar built the first Convertible in March 1987. After some more prototypes, they then built the first production ones for the Motor Show launches in Sep / Oct 1987. They then started building the production convertibles which were launched for sale to the public by December 1987. The ABS rotor rings were already being fitted to all cars from September 1987 (I think).
I guess H&E still wanted to make money converting cars right up until the last minute. But I've often wondered why customers bought new H&E conversions right at the end of 1987 when presumably they could have ordered a new factory Convertible? Maybe H&E really discounted their last converted cars to sell them?

"Maybe H&E really discounted their last converted cars to sell them"?
I don't think H&E sold any of their conversions to the public. They did the work and delivered them to the designated Jaguar dealerships.
I spent over a year redoing most of the shoddy work they did on the conversions especially the welding on my car.
The reworked panels were only tack welded and covered with a massive amount of body sealer which trapped water hence the rotting panels.
I am in the process of eliminating the problematic dual fuel tanks and installing a 20 gallon aluminum fuel cell.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.
1988 H&E Jaguar when I purchased it. Looks are deceiving
