Yes, I changed the fuel filter about a month ago.

I don't suppose you cut open the old one and inspected it? If you have rust particles in the tank it can plug up a new filter fairly quickly.

Over in that front RH corner where ya needed to work to place those filters is the main plug and pack for the FI system. My guess is that when you were messing around in the are, ya mighta disturbed something over there. Is the harness original, is the loom in the floor of the Vee? Has it been unwrapped to check for cracked wire insulation and shorting or broken wires?

From memory, in the major routing curves sending the A to the A Bank and B to the B Bank,,, just in that general area,,, (which happens to be not far from your work area) are the points in the loom where there are multiple/combo --- connections/splices for FI signals to the injectors. Disturbing as little as possible I would start trying to unwrap those wires. You might find a big ol green puddle of coolant hanging out in the loom, wreaking havoc on the signal,,, and other stuff too.

The Surge tank filter might be really gummed up after all these years restricting fuel flow as well.

What happens IF the CTS isn't bathed in fluid and can't sense engine/coolant temps due to a possible air pocket or simply not an adequate amount of coolant??? I guess the engine would run,,, but not right? Or,,, not at all?

Just throwing things at the wall...

Have you checked the connection at the CTS?

Default Sometimes it's the simple things...

Once I verified spark in both banks, I assumed I had a fuel delivery problem. Since I had recently refurbished the injectors and replaced the wiring harness, I assumed that this meant I either had a bad pump or a blockage in the sump sock filter.

I ruled out the sump filter by unplugging the feed hose to the pump and watching a torrent of fuel spill in to the trunk!!!

I then took a pressure reading on the B bank supply hose to the fuel rail which showed 36 psi.

So I stared at the engine for a while trying to figure out what could be wrong. Finally realized that my homemade injector harness had become disconnected at the A bank -- likely when I was moving the harness to get access to the heater hoses (since I had routed the harness through the back of the engine to get it out of the Vee).

Reattached the harness, and the car started right up! It runs very roughly and is under-powered, so I expect that the connection to some of the individual injectors have come loose. Will need to investigate over the weekend.

I say it again, SIMPLE cars these Jags.

WELL FOUND, and at least its a going concern, so now the fine tune, search and rectify.

Default Crud

Finally got the injector harness sorted. Drove the car for an hour and re-checked all the hoses. Could see there was some crud in the new coolant filters, so I took them off to clean them out.

Crud trapped in the filter prior cleaning it out

The debris inside
