Guess you should look for an air leak then.
What I typically do is seal the MAF off with some plastic wrap and light up a cigar and blow smoke in through the hose that goes into the intake elbow from the engine camcover. You want to make sure that the plastic wrap EXCLUDES the MAF from the cigar smoke, since anything before the MAF is unmetered anyways, so a leak upstream of the MAF is useless. Basically the smoke should go (1) up towards the MAF, but get blocked off by the plastic wrap, and (2) into the intake manifold/engine.

I was looking for an air leak before I got the code. I wasn't getting a code before, but at idle I was having a slight stumble. As some of you already know, I bought a couple of sensors and cleaned up a ton of electrical connections. When I took it down to the throttle body, I saw how dirty it was so I decided that I needed to take it off and clean it up. It had about 1/16" of sludge on the inner walls and about another 1/16" - 1/8" along the outer edge of the butterfly. Theres no way it could have been sitting at .002" at any time. After a good cleaning, I put it back on the car. I checked it for the .002 and it was slightly off maybe around .004". Now it is at .002 and the air leak is resolved. I never at any time touched the TPS adjustment. Cold, it started right up and it was idling at 700-725 rpm and in gear at about 600-625 rpm. I just let it idle and think for a few minutes. Now there is no stumbling at all and maybe it's my imagination, but the engine seems a bit stronger. Again, maybe my imagination, but it sounded a little healthier also. It feels a little strange sitting in the car and feeling the engine instead of the stumbling. I still need to take her out for a ride for my final conclusion, but so far so good.
