Cross pollination.....................some x305 advice
lve been looking for a XJ12 for a while, i wasnt looking for any model especially, but i have a chance on a really nice 1995 XJ12. l kind blows the budget out the window but im getting this nagging ''when will you see one again feeling'', so best obey that feeling.
Above and beyond what you would usually look for on a 25yr old car is there anything i should be paying special attention to?
l appreciate this isnt the correct forum, but i know some of you are multi addicts and would appreciate your input

If this is too pricey as is, there is a red XJ12 (mid 80s) that is probably still on the Victoria craigslist...$2500 though I kind of wanted it for my diesel conversion but that is another story.
This car would probably have the nicest iteration of the V12 with nice denso ignition, diagnostic capability etc. Biggest issue I could possibly see is just rubber items and filters, O2 sensors or the degree to which the Cats are clogged (and they will be). If I had one I'd simply do all filters with a professional flushing additive, possibly coolant hoses, I'd look at condition of rubber bushings and see if she handles like a GT or your grandmother's boat. If doing a thorough fresh start I'd have the radiator unclogged to at it's age.

Thanks for the input. l saw a red XJ in Victoria is a 6..................................its moot now anyway. Long and sort its too 'modern' for me. lm not overly in love with the look as i am with a UK series II nor is it ''the Jag my Dad had'' no draw there, Oh, Hannibal Lecter had one didnt he? The tech and supposed build quality is appealing, but to me the dash is more Ford than Jag and considering i think the series III VDP is a thing of beauty i would loath looking at tha after a while......................the XJS dash is about a risque is i like the dash on my Jags.
.................BUT hopefully, IF he actually will sell it (wants to/needs to because hes found a another treasure, but will he.....) l have got myself a spectacular 1987, but since it seems my XJ buying is a tad cursed we shall wait until im driving off into the sunset, hopefully, this time looking in its rearview mirror, rather than seeing it in the rearview mirror for the drive hone
Cheers
