Default Cruise control actuator - little "pads"

Hey Guys,

in my mission to clean up some parts, I am moving towards the V parts. AC compressor is already on the bench. So I also started to take the cruise control actuator apart.

The assembly is easily dismantled BUT before I could look any further, two little pads, I'd say around 7 mm diameter, about 1.5 mm thick, one side grey, the other white, fell out.

Where do they belong? I assume on top of the solenoids to block the openings (inlet/vacume) or is that wrong?

Cheers

Damien

Your picture shows them basically straight away!

Now I know where they sit... Between the "lower" end (T end of the solenoid "rod") and the body... So they seem to have just undone themselves...

Seems a really easy repair. The annoying thing is getting the solenoids out and then fiddling them back in again... Had to do that today, as one basically "fell" out as I took the bellows off...

Btw.: where did you get that front sticker from? I would want one too

I pretty sure they just make the solenoid a tight fit
on second thoughts is the dark side rubber seal. If it is then rubber side up

Awesome! Thanks!

Regarding the pads... They sit below, probably to limited the opening distance of the solenoids... As they don't seal the top off (at least not in your picture).

There is a buffer at one end and seal at the other. Daim, I suggest you rig up a vacuum pump and bench test the function and seal of the solonoids before refitting to car as they can be cows to get sealing correctly after being dismantled.

You can use a large syringe as a makeshift vacuum pump.
