Daily driver lump?

There's nothing wrong with a lump as daily driver (mine actually has a small block Chevy). It's just real hard to make an economical justification for the swap. By the time you procure all the parts, pieces, and misc components, you will have spent more money than it would have cost to buy another car.

I love additional horsepower, I love a good project, and I admire a "can do" attitude. But some of what's being discussed here seems over-the-top when/if words like "practical" "reliable" "economical" and "daily driver" are thrown into the conversation. All of those things point to an all-in-one, pre-fab kit for a SB Chevy....a well known and already proven choice.
From a purely dollars and sense standpoint the original Jag engine, if in basic good health, can be made "daily driver" reliable for much less money and effort than any engine swap.
I'm not "anti lump", mind you. It's just that I have seen too many "out of the fryng pan and into the fire" scenarios over the years :-)
