That is how I ended up with mine! craigslist for $500 BRG, biscuit, and wires. Parked since 1997 and purchased it in 2010. I offered $1000 so I could get ahead of the 40 other callers within the 2 hours it was up.
Figured even with a blown engine or bad tranny I could get my money back in selling the wheels. You won't regret it!

Well, I didn't pull the trigger. The pics in the ad must have been from 10 years ago. Yeah Yeah, I should've taken some pics while I was there, didn't think of it till I had driven off.
Paint completely oxidized, wood shot to hell / missing. Front seats not bolted down. And of course since it won't start, no telling what else might be discovered on a test drive, I suspect lots.
Worth $750? Sure, you could part it for more than that, but I'll pass. He also has a convertible (that one is as presented in the ad) that has been lumped for $10k.

Honestly, I don't think I could bear to part it - I bet the no start is a (relatively) simple issue - fuel pump relay? - didn't hear it prime before the starter whirred. In any case, it would probably become a winter project, either to keep (this is a classic color combination) until it's valuable, or flip. Don't think I would drive it much - I like black interiors, or maybe white or silver or gray on black or mulberry.
Well, I'll sleep on it. Thanks for enabling my bad habits.

OK - it's no secret that I'm not a mechanic, but I read a lot and can follow youtube videos. I understand that a running car requires 3 things:
- air
- fuel
- spark
IF - IFFFFF - I were to pick this up. I have a garage and a $100 "mechanic" set of Sears Craftsman tools LOL (they were enough to apply Kirby's fix to my Marelli distributor!!!). Guessing I would need a multimeter (and learn how to use it) - maybe some jacks from Harbor Freight, and what else?
I'm seriously asking as a complete newb. I might even take a basic mechanic course at the local community college.

And no hate, but even if the V12 is completely shot, I won't lump it. 6 Liter and 4 speed here we come. Just like Winter.
