I'm pretty sure its '87 Model Year and up. My car was built in August of '86 as a US MY '87 and has the pull for manual control function. I haven't actually dug into the system yet, that will wait for spring, but I'm expecting to find a MKIII system.

A factory TSB shows the Mk III system introduced at these VIN breaks

XJS 134286.
Series III V12 467377

I believe this was about August '86 so yours would be an early example.

Model year designations are confounding, especially regarding USA market cars. Your car would be considered an "86" in many other countries. My (USA) XJS, 139xxx, was built in Feb 1987 but was "1988 Model Year" and carried a 1988 VIN designator. In most Jaguar tech/parts literature it is considered 1987.5

My car's VIN is 137xxx built in October '86 and considered an '87.

I parted an '88 XJS H&E car last summer. One of the items i kept was the Delenair III unit. When things warmup I'll dive into it in some detail. Having extra parts seems like a good idea.

BTW....getting the thing out (Even with all the dash and console removed) proved to be a major PIA.
