Diode Pack

Diode Pack
Hi folks
thanks in advance. I sourced my aux fan problem down to a faulty diode pack. However i have checked every known jag part website known to mankind and i cannot find a replacement. Anyone know where to source one? Jaguar Canada says part no longer made.
The part that came off was a blue Pektron GAC1196.
Is there an equivalent part # or an alternative?
thanks

I'm guessing we're talking about part number DAC1996 which is NLA from Jaguar
Might find a good used one with a bit of searching. Perhaps call David at Everyday XJ?
Or.......
Perhaps the old one is repairable? I'm not familiar with particulars of this specific diode pack but often there's just a couple simple 50-cent diodes inside. If you're handy with a soldering iron it shouldn't be a big deal to replace 'em
Cheers

My diode also died a few years ago and at the time I saw it was very expensive iirc. My temp sensor controlling the fan had previously gone out, so I had my fan straight wired. The fan is an 11" chinese fan that cost $20, so I wasn't worried about wearing it out. With no control to turn the fan on and off, I wasn't worried about premature wear on the relay (due to the diode missing).
My understanding is that the diode prevents backfeed for when the fan is off and freewheeling, since it then acts as a generator. I straight-wired and bypassed my diode. So my fan has been on with ignition without a diode for about 8 years now without issue.
To be clear, any diode for a fan system could/should work if its rated appropriately. Look for one for a cars cooling system and it will likely all be rated as needed.
EDIT: Clarity

On the age of car of the OP, that same diode thingy does affect the fan as you mentioned SS, and it is also part of the fan circuit that keeps the fan going after shutdown if the temp switch is still closed. It also has a part in the headlight and windscreen washer circuit. Quite what, I do not know!
