ECM location?

Default ECM location?
I have a 1993 XJS 4.0 convertible. I have two manuals and my car does not always seem to follow either one. One manual says my ECM should be in the right rear panel. I looked inside the car and found the hydraulic pump for my roof, then I took the metal plate in my truck off and found my gas tank and my fuel pump. I still need to know where the ECM is located.

I'm not sure where you're looking in the workshop manual. I've just looked and Section 18.30.01 of Vol 2 of the manual that you have shows the location of the ecm in the footwell?

The electrical guide always lists the location of modules.
Electrical Guide S72_93.pdf in the correct guide.

Figure 25 lists Right Dash Under Panel

Page vii is the ECU and Comopnent Identification and Location

The ECM is located in the boot ONLY on the V12.

My ECM is located in the side panel of the passenger side (for me that's the right side). I plan on putting it back tomorrow.
