Default Euro Headlights - How many bolts?

I am trying to remove my Euros from a '95 XJS to convert to the US headlights. I have removed ALL the T30 screws that I can see (5 I believe) but the Driver Side light seems to still be attached on the engine side. What is holding it? Is there a screw that cannot be easily seen?

Thanks.

There's probably one more then. Nothing holding it in from anywhere else.

Get a flashlight and look around. I think I got frustrated by a screw that is barely visible.

Default One more

It definitely felt like there was one more, and there was. I could only see the bolt with the hood down. Since I was working with the hood up, it wasn't visible. I got the assemblies out and today will make the wiring harness modifications.

Thanks.

Default Finished Headlight Conversion

In my opinion, there were too many bolts holding the Euro style headlamps on. Definitely over engineered, but after a trip to Harbor Freight to get a T30 bit and a skinny extension so I could get to the last hidden bolts and creating a modified wiring harness to support the US style headlights, it is finished. I liked the XJS before, but I really like it now. What a difference in appearance. I think it added some aggressiveness to its look.

I have no clue what you are talking about. Sorry I can't be of more help.

As I recall from when I last adjusted them, there are 3 (or 4?) Clips that hold in the euro headlamp, this clips are mounted on sprung brackets that can be adjusted to aim the headlamps.

To remove the headlamps I can simply squeeze the tabs on the clips in and it comes straight out.

The 95 headlights are totally different than the older style glass. Older ones were much easier to deal with!! I switched my 88 quads to glass Euro style. 3 clips easy.

Idk why everyone dislikes the euro lamps so much... think they look a lot cleaner. Maybe my opinion is spoiled because all of the ones I have seen IRL were in pretty poor condition or were V8 swaps, so the American lights also remind me of those things

I agree. I hated my quad lights. Reminded me of Christine and really dated the car. I swapped for the glass euro and put the super bright halogen Sylvania bulbs in and it was great.

My ears perked when one of you mentioned "glass Euro style". My '94 Coupe V12 has Euro style plastic lenses. Are the glass lenses interchangeable with the plastics? Where do I buy the glass ones? I don't like the plastics because like all plastic headlamps, they turn yellow and restrict the brightness of the lights. Restoration kits are only temporary. Where can I see a pic of an XJS with the Euro style glass lenses? Thanks.

I'm putting my vote in for the Quads. I prefer the look compared to the Euros.

Just another of those things where each of us has a preference.

I personally never liked the the quads. They were essentially designed for the US market due to the requirements at that time. I prefer the original Euro glass style because they were the intended design. And they look more modern Eden today.
I found my euro style headlights, heated and removed the glass and refinished the interior with chrome spray (just on the bottoms where they seem to loos the chrome factory finish. And I replaced the old bulbs with the new very high powered halogen's. Also added led parking bulbs inside as well.

With the bulb update, they were very functional and looked more modern! I miss this car!!

Is was my first pic after changing the fog lights and the quads to euro. And this is with just the parking lights. I then changed to LED parking inside the headlights and I even changed the newer fogs to a very slim bright Led drl set you can see on the previous photo.

The Funny thing is I have a complete set of euro "Glass" not plastic lights of my 83 that I replaced with quads, springs, bezels the lot, all in top condition, I put them up once for sale with no interest. The thing is I’m not asking much but the freight could be the killer all the way from Australia.
As stated previously there is simply three clips per side that hold them in.

Would the XJS "quad" lights even exist if it wasn't for that silly (and finally defeated) US headlights rules?

Jaguar's design engineers were remarkably successful in modernizing the lines of this wonderful car without losing any of the basic XJS essence while making the car immensely attractive. Converesly, quad lights do take the facelift XJS design a bit backwards by introducing (imposing) an older concept right across the front, thus tarnishing part of the facelift impact.

Quad lights do not look "bad", they just don't belong on a facelift XJS.
My two cents,
