Exhaust upgrade?
Hey guys (and gals),
I have a 1994 XJS V-12 convertible. It has an exhaust leak and I thought about just replacing the entire system with something that sounds better and performs better. Living in SC, no worries about removing the cats. Any advice, experience, etc. appreciated!

I've got gutted CATs and straight pipes to side exits ahead of the rear tires, with free-flowing mufflers installed at the request of my neighbours. Sounds abit like a lawn mower at certain speeds but I feel like an X-pipe would resolve that, however at idle and at higher rpm it is absolutely brilliant. Gurgling at idle, very loud raspy growl on acceleration and at highway speeds and it'll immediately growl when letting off the pedal which is great for one's ego and prompting people to move over to the slow lane.
Unfortunately I made the mistake of ditching the rear resonators I wish I hadn't as they would of helped with the slight lawn mower noises at slower speeds.
If you want the best in a complete system please check out this guy's stuff https://simplyperformance.com/jaguar...steel-exhaust/ he makes a very high quality product. You can also do something similar on your own with a local exhaust shop just make sure you properly clear out the CATs and weld on suitable replacement pipe, ditch all center mufflers etc, and retain the rear resonators with enlarged exits (in my opinion) to ensure a better V12 exhaust note, ideally you don't want a ford mustang or lawn mower. You'll also enjoy a noticable power boost, might want to open up the air intakes to in order to take full advantage.
This will give you an idea of what is possible.
