Default Facelift Starter Dying, any Recommendations

My starter is showing signs of dying. Grinding noise when staring, hesitation then pop cough when starting.

These symptoms only happen occasionally, but more frequent. I have 110,000 miles on it and it's clearly the original.

Any suggestions or recommendations on what to look for to replace it?

Thanks.

Pull it and have it rebuilt.

I bought my AJ16 starter from AutoZone, no problems for 50k+ miles so far. They store your name and phone number so you’ll never lose that lifetime warranty.

Good to know. Since I will do this myself, I actually value the warranty.
