I think the tube to nowhere is indeed part of the air injection, #13 in this illustration

Greg, yes I had it the same but from sitting in the car... motor running anti clock wise. On motorcycles its all was looking forward when talking cylinders etc.

Thanks DD - could be but hard to tell, I am slowly getting used to this beast of an engine... OK just the bit I have pulled a part so far.
So much to learn, thats why I choose the V12.

Got my fan shroud parts back after being acid dipped... nice and clean $57 NZD
Then its off to be plated, gold offers the most rust protection... SO I was told. $50 NZD and the are ready for powder coating.

The new fan has turned up Maradyne Champion Series M103K - 10 inch 130W - 950 CFM
MARADYNE High Performance Fans - M103K

Now is time to try an fit it, I pulled the fan apart and used a linisher / sanding belt on the outside to allow it to fit inside the shroud.

And after very little effort... it fits.

Now I was thinking of using some Gorilla glue to hold it in, that was my sons approach...!
I used 6 x 5mm SS counter sunk screws and it is held nice and firm. I am looking at making some spacer to help hold the fan firm.
Have to say without the spacers it is nice and firm but long term I think spacers would be a good idea.
Washers and nylocks also.
The nuts on there now are just for fitting before powder coating.
Now pull it apart and wait anther week for powder coating, also have a nice new strip of rubber for the air duct / flap thing.

I have replaced the belts. all four of them.
We all know which one is a pain in the ***, but its on and good to go.
So all new belts and I have made a tensioner ali plug.. see post here new plug

looking good, all screws like new

And new belts.... that was a test one of them was a little tight so a blip on the ignition got that belt on.
Just a blip and the dam thing started... could not turn it off fast enough.
result is looking good.

Update time.
I have also replaced all the belts, bottom one was fun but done.
Gates belts all round, cheap with work discount.
Anyone in NZ .. I get a HUGE discount on stuff at SAECO WILSON through work, want something let me know.!
So all belts changed,
New black fan and viscus thing in, could not get the washers in but lots of blue Lottie.....
Aux fan ... assume for now. And may I say looks made for the job.

So belts are done, and just dropped the oil.
Purchased Shell Helix HX5 -15W - 40W at 50% sale price $23NZ for 4L = $69 oil change with good oil.

I had already installed the main air bleeder pipe, been acid dipped, then gold plated with their processes and powder coated, I did not think to make sure it was clear.
Installed the pipe and read on a forum post... it gets blocked not good. 45min later with a wire it was blowing free in a bucket of water with air compressor. Glad I read that post!
Close to nothing was coming out before with one end in a bucket of water.

Next job while the front is in the air was change the oil, as said. easy job, then the filter, expecting a nightmare, oil covering of clothes but no...small pipe reach and 2 min, not even tight, but nipped up secure. Tells me it was done right, I like that. So new Shell oil to go in... Never been a Shell fan but a semi 15/40 at 50% is to good to pass.

Took a wife's boot box and turned it in to an XJS oil machine.

Was to tall, nothing an angle grinder could not fix! Who needs hand holes?

Just because it might cause confusion regarding your overall wealth Duke, I’ll just point out that it is gold Passivating not Gold plating
Apart from that looking really good.
What branch of Saeco do you work at/from?
Just did the Jaguar ‘Art of Performance’ yesterday at the ASB Showgrounds, boy what a hoot those cones are

Rob sounds like great fun, is that for when you buy a new Jag?
Yes passivating, but I could not spell that!
Don't work for Saeco but were I work buys lots so its a good discount.
Over 50% on bearings etc, the belts were cheap.

No we just get a few slots for Jag club members (hint) done three or four now, one was at Hampton Downs and they had an F type SVR the 5.0 litre supercharged one for that one.
