FI Harness

FI Harness
Getting ready to replace my FI harness. I have all the new wire, injector connectors and split loom. The project seems daunting at first look, but after you get the old wire exposed and sit back and take a look, it becomes a little less confusing. Looks like it'll be an interesting project and one that you can do comfortably at the kitchen counter, on a stool, beer in hand or at least within reach.
I was surprised when I got the old harness exposed. The wire is surprisingly limber and in pretty decent shape considering the car is 24 yrs old and lived in the heat of the CA desert most of it's life. The injector connectors however are pretty beat up, for whatever reason, and a few fit pretty loosely.
I ordered all my wire etc. from Del City, used a parts list posted by silver in Dec., and I couldn't be happier with the price or service. I placed my order on a Sunday and had my delivery on the following Thurs. One spool of wire was back ordered and came the next week. Total cost about $130, seemed pretty reasonable to me. Del City followed up my order with a couple of e-mails for confirmation and also thanking me for my business. I consider their service to be excellent!
Next I'll send the injectors to Jaguar Fuel Injector Service for a cleaning and checkup. I'll also replace all of the fuel hoses while I'm at it.
Looks like the car will be laid up for a couple of weeks. I'll let you know how it all works out.
