Finally Finished!!
To give anyone out there who has started a full/part/mild or a small bit of restoration work on their car...a bit of encouragement it does come to an end.
It was the first couple of months of Covid and I'd owned my Xjs for a good number of years. A solid car. All the work I'd done had been largely mechanical, including brakes, suspension, head gasket ...
There were some things I'd never attended too.. the main one of which was I knew I had the dreaded scuttle rot. The tell tale bubbling of paint at the bottom of the windscreen on both sides.
I also had a couple of other spots of rust, the woodwork, leather, bumper rubber and chrome and the headlining all needed attention.
So I tore into it and got the trim off, the windscreen out and wings off. This was the sorry sight three years ago;
But now its all done and dusted.. and this is how she's looking in the sunshine....
