Default Front Wheel Seal Question

I'm putting the front end of my 1989 XJS back together and I think I got the wrong seals for the front wheels.

I ordered a set of National 473454 and Timken 473454 seals from RockAuto. This is the National seal sitting in my hub - it's way too big.

This is the Timken seal. It's the same size as the National seal.

Here's the original seal that I pulled it - it looks totally different than the ones I bought.

Does anyone have the part number for the seal I need?

I think I can answer my own question. It looks like it should be CBC2858 or 0523413/052-3413. The O'Reilly's a couple towns over has the 0523413 in stock so I'll try to pick some up tomorrow.

I was on a schedule to get everything back together in time for Coffee and Classics on Sunday morning. I felt the wind fall out of the sails when I realized what happened.

To add insult to injury, RockAuto won't take them back because I tried to install them.

There is no way for me to express just how much I can relate to what ya mustah been feeling, lol... So many times. Just standing there, on pause, like damn!

Due to my situation here in NY, it will often mean that I have to put everything back together, then, do it all over again. Street work... It's part of the reason, especially at the beginning, that I would annoy the hell out of everyone, quadruple asking, before doing/starting anything. I still do, lol. Old habits die hard 😊

You have ABS - the seal is a simple rubber one with 3 lips that fits onto the stub axle itself, & the hub is pushed up to it & moves against it. You should be able to find it on many of the xjs parts suppliers online that will confirm the part number.
