The computer plugs into the same plug as the clock. there are only two parts necessary to change it. The computer from a facelift car and the center wood panel.

Nice. So all I would need is a clock from a facelift, and the wood panel. Might get that arranged if or when I redo all the interior wood.

I am retired and 90% of my driving is just for shopping and back. Mostly under 40 mph stop and go. I get less than 10 mpg. When I do drive the highway, the computer says I'm getting over 20 mpg at 75 mph. But, since I only fill up about every 5 or 6 weeks, I don't really care.

who cares...? well it is indicative of the health of your systems...

just drove it yesterday...
fixed the wiring to coil for b side reset the computer to clear codes (the breaking of the alt belt set codes and unfixed the b-side coil wire)
filled her up ... the warm up cycle to work 3.7 miles 9.8 mpg.
warm up cycle to lunch 3 miles 9.7mpg.
back from lunch warmed up over 10.* mpg.
drive to in-laws after work peaked at 11.7 mpg...
this is in town w stop lights... stop and go... all topless

this is much better that when I bought it.
I got 5mpg and was happy to see 7 mpg... after fixing this and that I get nice mpg... and I can not wait until the next bit of sun shine too take her for a long run on the interstate...

when I drive the tail of the Dragon I expect to get in the range of 5mpg or less and rarely take it out of 1st gear... ( more of a test of the cooling system and the breaks, and my nerves...)

Yes it is indicative of the car's health, I used the suggestions from the people in this thread while I was last at the shop and had the vac and fuel lines looked at - two collapsing fuel lines and a fuel filter I forgot about had to be replaced before they burst and shot fuel all throughout my car and probably ignite everything on fire.
