The pipes exiting the boot, Brinny? They are imperial sizes, and are still obtainable, best to accurately measure the o/d of the pipes, but metric olives will not work, even if they look close enough.

They will be 5/16th or 3/8th I am pretty sure. Treat yourself to a nice assortment!

I'm convinced I replaced these with new at the time Greg. I don't fancy stripping them back down now the carpets in and I'm not even sure they are my problem. What about if I try giving them one final nip and then a smear of something to make sure nothing can escape? Can get to the bottom of this fuel smell. Its minor but irritating.

RJP expoxied his corner joints, that is the definitive solution! It would be worth checking the locking rings are tight to their stops (I presume you used new ones?). Also what is the situation in the top RH corner where the cannister and rochester valve are? There are loads of tubes and clips in that area.
By all means try a nip, but before so doing, i find that my nose is the best leak-finder. If you get your nose right into that corner, if there is a small you will know it straight away. On my car i suffered a gradual increase in fuel smell from none to "maybe? to it's there" over the last two years. I renewed the 1/2 inch pipes to the sump tank and from that to the pump, plus epoxied the tank exit (later cars did not have an olive there) anf now it is back to no fuel smell.

Cheers Greg. Didnt know the locking rings needed to go upto a stop. I just thought they needed to be under all the tabs so will check.

My experience is that after a bit the rubber ring gives a bit, and then the rings need locking up to their stops.
