I have a bad "bog down" situation happening with our 90 XJS 5.3 ,.how would you check the fuel pressure at the rails..or at the regulators..I can put a inline gauge at the pump...it feels like it's starving for fuel..also what should the pressures be...from the pump and at the injectors?. any input would be helpfull. thanks in advance....L
EDIT: just serched the sight,. should of done this first,... somebody posted about the surge tank between the tank and the pump...the tank was replaced in 04 but I'm going out to clean the small holding tank to see what I can see...would still like to know the pressures though....Thanks again

All the problems came back except the idle, it's great,...step on the pedal and it falls flat on its face,...went the direction I was headed in a while back,.. drained the tank, run the car until it ran out of fuel, touched the fuel pump and it burned my finger,.that aint right,.changed the pump and it runs like a scalded dog,.. I can hear the tires trying to catch up with the motor, and G-forces I've never felt from that car...wow..I like it now....I'm
out...L

Do yourself a favor and change the fuel filter several times. The tanks like to rust and take out the fuel pump. Unfortunately, the fitler is after the pump, but this way it won't have to push through the collected crap. If you take this pump out too, be prepared to pull the tank.
