Exclamation Fuel Pump

My fuel pump is not getting power. My Jag 1995 VP, wouldn't start. Kept turning over but wouldn't start. My mechanic friend says the pump is good but he had to run a wire from the battery to the pump to get the car started and off the side of the road. Any suggestion to what the problem is?

Replace the relay with a sealed one.

I agree with the relay.

Also, it might pay to post this in the X300 section. The XJ-S's of that era are simlilar, but not exactly the same.

Also beware if you have a V12 of that vintage (93 to 97) there are two fuel pumps one runs all the time and a second pump is controlled to run when engine rpm is above 2850rpm
