Fuel pump from BMW E30 fits XJS?

Yep.
Common and dust down here, and sold thousands in my years in teh Parts Game.
Merc, Ford, GM (Aussie), all sorts of early EFI systems use that pump.
1/2" inlet, and 5/16" outlet.
WARNING
Look at YOUR pump, and NOTE the +ve and -ve terminals.
Some pumps have the "larger" terminal as the -ve, and some have it as the "smaller".
Some brands have them the same size, so PAY ATTENTION.
Soooo, if yours has the -ve as the larger, make SURE you connect that wire to the -ve of the new pump, pay NO attention to terminal size on the new pump, IT WILL BE STAMPED + or -.. The pump will work either way, but only pump fuel the correct way.
I googled that pump number you mentioned, and got a long list of backhoe buckets, not helpful for pumping fuel.
This is a snap from my files of an FPE240 generic pump, used all over.
