Some days, the stars align. Fixed in in 15 minutes. Pulled the rear shield. Found the positive lead to the fuel pump had been trapped between it snd the tank, and broken. A simple splice and I am on the road.
Someone had been in there before. And one of the D clips on the chassis fuel line connector was not fully seated. Fuel had been leaking.

I do admit to a bit of disappointment.
I was so looking forward to the feeling of accomplishment facelift convertible owners must have after pulling off this job.
Guess I will just have to be satisfied with replacing the front subframe and dropping and rebuilding the rear subframe...

Seriously. I am feeling quite demoralized by a 2004 XKR that WILL NOT start with the key, and in that, certain functions will not come alive in the car. The PWM on fueling and obviously the "ok to crank". Making me nuts... I can start and drive the car by jumping the starter relay, car fires right up... shweeeetly. Albeit with high fuel pressure warming due to the hard wired fuel pump... The XKR electrics are a complete buzz kill.
Anywho. Onward and Upward...
