Default Fuel Rail Leak

Good evening! I hope you all are well! I renewed my fuel injectors and hoses, and in the process screwed up royally. When removing one of the old injectors from the rail, I over cut with a saw and barely cut into the rail at the junction. It seems it was enough to perforate the rail and now I have a stream of fuel the moment the pump comes on,

I would appreciate any info on if and who could weld the rail or if it is best to look for a new one. Also, a good place to start looking for one.

I don't know much about welding, brazing, etc. so I'll let others comment on that. The rail is very thin so that may be a consideration

It shouldn't be hard to find a good used one, depending on your location. Here in the USA we often turn to David at Everyday XJ

Not related, but your heat cover for the cruise control bellows in upside down!

I agree with Doug.

Welding is not something I would trust, too thin, and the nervous thoughts of where next, would drive me to more drink than now.

Used are out there, and you are in the US somewhere, so easy enough as suggested.

I have one, came off a mid 80s car the hose ends are still on but a pair of pliers can make short work of it.

Rail is in the mail!

Do you guys think it would it be better to use a little propane torch or a large lighter and simply melt off or atleast soften up the rubber to get these off? I had my shop do my car's set but most people DIY it and it wouldn't be the first time the barb got all f#@&'d up

Default Rail leak Update

Good morning!! New rail received (thank you again!) old hoses removed, injector removed from prior rail without damaging pressure clamps. Will put it all together soon and keep you updated. Greetings and have a great week!!

Yes! I took it to a mechanic and he replaced the ECU. She is running beautifully! Thank you! The only issue now is that after running a while she has trouble restarting. I just got a coolant temperature sensor since I think that's the problem. She also needs new sneakers! Will post pics soon.

Goodo.

Look in the engine bay, RH side, on the panel that is basically behind the RH headlight bulge.

There is an Alloy looking rectangle, with a multi pin plug inserted in the bottom. Fiddle around, and unplug that plug, CLEAN the terminals, and also clean the area that it plugs into.

Removal, 2 screws, of that unit will make cleaning easier.

It is the resistor Pack for the EFI system, and the ECU actually "talks" to it, so dirty connections = hard to start, mainly when HOT.

Default Fixed!

Thank you all for your help! The issue was fixed replacing the coolant temperature sensor. It has has started in the first try ever since. Now I have a power steering leak issue which I suspect is the low pressure line. We’ll see! Thanks again and Happy 2020 to all!!
