gas tank problems
Every time I put gas in, say 96 octane, when I open the gas cap, gases come out that sound like when you uncap a Coke. If it does that, is it because something is clogged or is that normal? One day it got so hot that the gasoline rose and was moving.or any gas valve to buy?

Most likely, the Rochester Valve by the charcoal canister has clogged. It is located in front of the drivers side front wheel.
There is no good substitute for it. I would recommend removing the Rochester valve entirely to see if this symptom Goes away. If it does, you found the problem; if not, come back and update us please.

You can search for a past post of mine. The title uses the word, “whoosh”.
That should get you started on what’s going on.
It’s the vent line for your fuel tank. If there’s any fuel in there, it shouldn’t be enough to scare you. Just make sure you open the fuel tank cap to repressurize your system when you remove it.

@Greg in France Yes, the whoosh has been resolved....but the smell continues in the trunk. The mat has been saturated in, what I think, can only be fuel.
Not sure how its getting there, as I did refurbish the tank about two years ago.
