anyway it's printing now and i'll be doing some testing this afternoon

A couple of points l would make are that the tests should be used as a guide. I have found some of the readings can be off by a small margin and yet still have a perfectly operating system and some are just downright confusing, for instance #56 & 57 call for same settings yet required results are totally different.
Lastly the warning about shorting pins should be taken VERY SERIOUSLY.

Looks like my ECU is busted, I wonder can I wire the centre vent solenoid to the Demister solenoid? if theyre both off - ie demist is selected on the RH control I will get demist air, and if they're both on (low - High) I'll get centre vent air....?

You also have the blend flaps to contend with and you can't control them manually.
I just last week had to replace my ecu too, found one on ebay in UK for 30 pound and 12 pound postage was here 5 days later in the car and all good. Same guy had another on there for same price.
