Default Hello Everyone

Hello, I just joined this Forum and my name is "Kimba", and have a 1989 Jag XJS Race/Show car. The car just got second place in class at the Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix car show. I do all the work on it myself, including tearing most of the engine apart and re-building it (What a job!) Am really anxious to talk to other Jag Lovers!

Default Some Pictures

Hi Guy's. Being a new member, I don't think I can send a PM yet, But I will as soon as my "probation" period is over. But here are a few pictures of the Big Cat! Sorry, the car's not show ready in these pictures, but I just took them. (I hope this works)

What a beauty! How do you get the hood/bonnet up that far?!

Excuse all of our cars for not being so clean,

The hood doesn't have the struts on it and that's why it stands up so high.

Re-moving the struts was the first part with the hood/bonnet. Then that black plastic piece in front of the secondary coil had to be re-moved because the grill hit it when I raised the hood. The hood now sits wide open, but I put a piece of S.S. tubing in it so the wind won't slam it closed... A little tip - anyone ever try to find S.S., or chrome bolts for a V-12? Look what's holding down the fuel rail in the last picture!

Fantastic job. What do you mean, not 'show ready'! Welsome to the forum, too.

I just looked at my facelift XJS. The hood won't go any further up without smashing the grill. The pre-facelift must be different.

Default Wow!

You all have such awesome looking cars, I could never be in the same category as most of you! Before joining this Forum, I would just look at some of your cars and wish mine could begin to compare! The knowledge that is in this forum is incredible!
OK...Lets see - LnrB, I was going to paint it Black, but that Signal Red, had my king of "flair". Flint - I have a sign shop, and do custom engraving. I think "Ole Joe" would approve. ronbros - It has been around the old Beaver Run Road Course a few times (Now the Pittsburgh International Race Complex), but her racing days are about over. Were both getting a little to old. Mkii250 - I remember doing something with the front bumper? If I remember I'll let you know. Greg in France - Thank you SO much!

Default Jag Club

Iomidach... Is that this Saturday? I had better start checking out those dates! As soon as I can PM, I'll send you my e-mail address so we can get together!
ronbros - When the car goes to a show is where I really enjoy it. The looks of people when they see a V-12 for the first time is priceless!

Wow, my local Jaguar club here in Pittsburgh had a car show today. NOT ONE XJS!!! NOT ONE!!! There was a judging class for the XJS but no car in the class. I should've TOWED mine there today. A little wax and Armor All, and I'd have come home with a trophy!!
Where is everyone? Are there that few of our fantastic beautiful cars? Well, I have my goal.
I am driving mine there next year. I cant wait to show off my "unique" Jag!!
Kimba, are you coming too? ha ha
