I swapped the MAF out for a tried and tested one from my other XJS. I also tested the voltage from the MAF harness and they're all reading correct so I dont suspect that is at fault. I've got thr harness for the crankshaft sensor out and drying incase there is any moisture, I will also clean it before plugging it back together. The coils are out and drying just incase they saw any moisture, however they were all bone dry as I pulled them out.

It started for a moment!
I went to go and recconenct the batteries and uplug the coils and I thought I would just quickly try and start it before pulling the coils and it started straight up! It revved at about 1500rpm for about 30 seconds and then as it dropped down to 600 it cut out and I'm back to a crank and no start situation.
Does it ellude to an intermittent sensor, or perhaps it is just drying out? Either way it's great to hear it going again for a brief moment!
Also quick tip, over cleaner will do a brilliant job to get all of that pesky brake dust off the rear of your rims!

Hi, I don't know why but for some reason I decided to log into my account on the forums here and saw this. For my 96, the no start after wash issue was caused by water running down the ECU wires and into the ECU connectors. The ECU is in the passenger side foot well. Water from me washing it followed the harness through the bulkhead and got into the ECU connectors. If I remember correctly, I disconnected the battery, and pulled the connectors to the ECU. Dried up the harness side connector cavities. I then took the ECU to my bench and opened it up and dried it out. I let it sit for a few days to make sure it was completely dry before connecting the ECU back up to the harness in the vehicle. It started right back up with no issues.
