As before you get to fix the leak, you've got to take the Tank out and it is behind a Steel Baffle in the Boot/Trunk and you are looking at the Job from Hell.
Then having got the Tank Out where everything but everything will be in the way, then you may as well replace the Fuel Pump and the Sender as well, because this is the kind of job that you may never ever want to do again.

thanks
thanks very much. my tank looks brand new though. i'm told by my jag shop that it's usually the baffle plates in the tank where they rivet to the inside of the tank. all that sloshing around pushing them back and forth weakens the rivets causing the leaks. I don't know yet, gonna take it to a shop that does tank repair, or get a fuel cell that'll fit on that shelf and allow me to bolt up that back plate as I think it's part structural. been trying to find one on summit that has both remote fueling and a sending unit.

leaking fuel tank
I used to be into Classic American trucks. If you check out an issue of a Classic /Custom truck magazine you will find numerous suppliers of new fuel tanks in different configurations. They might have something off the shelf or that they could customize to your order. Ronbros, that's a good looking set up, did you post a thread on how you did it?
