Help me buy an XJS... What to look out for?

Hey guys,
So I regularly trade in more modern Jags.. XJ's XK's and S-Types. I have an XK8 completely done by Arden.... But.. Somehow Ive lusted after the XJS since my teenage years and I think it's time to add one to the collection.
Ive had one XJS that I sold on consigment for a family friend of my now ex... AND had the opportunity to buy at 6500, and instead passed and sold it for him at 9750. It was a champange color with a brown roof, and that's the one reason I was like ehhh.. I'm still kicking myself for that one.
Now the bad part. I don't know MUCH about these cars. I know I want a 94-96 convertible, and I want the 4.0 because I just don't have the appetite for caring or feeding a v12, and I have plenty of cars for going fast, this is a relaxed grand tourer.
What should I look for? What are the problem areas? How siginificant are miles on these cars? I know that there are a LOT of low miles examples out there, but besides cosmetics, how many miles are TOO many.
My plan with this car is basically to pick it up, drive it through the season while tinkering with it, and then decided what I want to do with it as the open top season comes to an end.
I have a dealer license and full access to the wholesale dealer auction network, but that's pretty much useless for finding an XJS.
Thanks in advance,
George

AJ16 engine is pretty bullet proof so high mileage should not be a problem.
Try and find one with a full service history from a reputable Jaguar garage and get someone who knows the XJS to give it a once (or twice!) over and test drive it.
Make sure that all the electrics (especially roof motors) work properly and nothing leaks.
Good luck!
