Default Hesitating between a 1990 or 1992 XJS convertible

Hello
I already purchased a beautiful 1996 XJS that currently has 10.675 miles and I was thinking about purchasing another Jag but need your advice.

1990 XJS convertible ,Champagne color with the service record, new top headliner always maintained by Jaguar-trained technician with 39 k original miles
or
a 1992 XJS convertible ,Champagne color with the service record
new steering rack, new tires, alignment, fresh oil change, coolant flush 52k miles
also maintained by Jaguar-trained technician

they are both about the same asking price 9k
What do you think is the real value each car and why should I buy one over the other ?

Both show very well with excellent paint and interior.

Neither, for that money wait for a later 93, 94 or 95. Those are the best years by far...with outboard rear brakes, 4l80e on the V12 and many other improvements. I dont think the 92's had these fixes yet.

Probably the 90 would be my choice... I like the headlights much better then the newer design.

The '90-'91 cars were the best of the pre-facelift models. Parts are a bit easier to find for these cars. They are my favorites.

The '92's are ok but not the best of the facelift cars and parts a bit less available. However, if you really like the facelift cars then this is the one for you.

Considering that they both are in similar condition. My personal preference is for the pre-facelift cars so I would choose the '90

There are a lot of XJS's in Southern California but condition trumps everything. If the '90 truly has only 39K miles and has been taken care of then it should look and drive like a nearly new car. If that is the case then I think $9K is not unreasonable.

I would probably offer $8k and negotiate from there.

buy a 94 on up as the earlier ones only have the 3 speed and a 2.88:1 rear end
