$140,000 here. I could have a garage full of desirable's, and all on the road for that price....without having to restore or rebuild any.

That is an aberration from the ebay auto currency translate! In the UK it is a much more reasonable sum.

$103,000USD...

I'm not sure you could get 10,300USD for that. I hope he's found a new storage spot for it... I don't believe he'll find a buyer.

He’s being trying to sell that shell forever - it’s never off eBay. I’d take it off his hands for a grand - I’d soon spend more than that on storage for the thing.

What a massive undertaking re-shelling an XJS convertible would be!

Rgds.

Some people need a lesson in markets and price discovery. If one did take on a project like this.... in the end it would be worth less than any similar factory put together car in similar condition.

So this one is for the hobbyist and Jaguar XJS hobbyists dont spend that kind of coin. It has no race history or other intrinsic market value other than novelty.

Broadly speaking...It's silly season right now. We're at the top of the economic cycle and offerings like this confirm market psychology is unbalanced. Classic car prices, bit coin, high consumer confidence, and the compressed yield curve are all confirming the cycle is at it's peak. There just needs to be a catalyst to cause an end to the euphoria and rapid rationalization, that might take weeks or years.

Maybe he entered "770.00" and the computer translated that to "77000"? Otherwise I cannot fathom how anyone could begin to consider this a sane price.

Now, it's true that I paid nearly 2,000,000 for mine... but that was in yen. (^_^)

It might work better if you upload them to the forum gallery, and then paste the links from there.

Depends on where you are! Province I'm in is still in a fairly deep recession thanks to low oil prices.

I know quite a few people with degrees like Engineers, Geologists etc who have been unemployed for 2 years now. Apparently if you have a degree you are 6 times more likely to be unemployed than if you don't have a degree.
