96xjsz,

I think the only way to condemn the hood ecu is to know that the input signals are being received by it but that no output is then being sent to the relays.

The best way to do this is to backprobe the inputs on the ecu to confirm that it's receiving signals from the handbrake switch, transmission switch and the hood switch itself, yet not sending any signals out.

It's conceivable that the ecu has failed but, in my limited experience, not that common. When nothing at all happens, either windows operating or hood going down, it's nearly always the handbrake switch or the hood switch itself or, less likely, the transmission switch. If either the hood operates or the windows go down, then it's usually the relays.

Hope that helps

Paul

Default Hood control module

Ok sounds good
thanks for the come back Paul.
I am getting pwr from the hood ecu
I prove it by sticking my test light prob e in back side (ECU side) of the connector and attaching the wire end of the tester to ground
That makes it work hood goes up and dwn I can do that to the rear windows also
This tells me the grd info is not processed in the ecu

There's no short to grd in the hand brake tested and visually checked

I'm stuck away from home limited tools and support
It wòuld b nice to get this jaguar mystery solved.

Unhappy Hood inop still

Well I still can't seem to get the
hood to work from inside the car
Again I can make the hood go up and down from the trunk relay area.
at the hood module ecu

I removed the switch and jumped the wires to prove continuity.

It looks to me like the ground is not making a connect.

ANY IDEAS

I found a Hood ECU for 200 but If i put it in and it blows well you know
It blows.

Larry
