Hose from Cam cover to Throttle Body

Excuse my ignorance, I'm wating for my manual... I cleaned the throttle body today and noticed there is a hose going from the cam cover to the throttle body. This hose is filled with oil and allows oil to get into the throttle body which I believe is what causes smoke when started.
There is also a sensor here with an arrow. I may have put it backwards. I now have it pointing towards the cam cover. I believe it should be pointed to the throttle body as it is there to release air brought in by the pcv vavle? I am wrong about this? Anyone know what Im talking about?

to answer my own question this is a crank case ventillation hose that vents just before the throttle body. it is the reason that crud (oil) finds its way into the throttle body causing it to need a cleaning every once in a while. at least in my case.
I did install the sensor on the hose backwards.
though it didnt seem to make any difference.
