Well, ok. There's then$1000 to buy the car, $200 odd the license and register, another $100 ish to insure/year.... so far only parts I have got are cap rotor wires and an injector repair kit. Those come to another $200 ish. Not installed yet of course.. And it needs a lot more...... The wife wants a convertible. Make it so Number One!

Default Bit too much

Some kind soul suggested I look at Murtle Products in the Uk on line shop. I wish I hadn’t. I’ve yet to confess to the Skirt Policewoman that I spend circa $1200 on new Elm Wooden steering wheel, Elm Gear change stick and Elm replacement console gear shift surround.
I’m hoping she will be away from home when the package arrives from Uk.

Lets see. $2400 for upholstery, $500 tyres, $250 all new brakes, $150 brake fluid flush, $100 color correction and wax, and the big ones are going to be steering rack rebuild, front suspension rebuild, and prolly new tyres since I drive it often and through canyons

The timing of this Thread is very appropriate in my case LOL. Picking up my XJS from the shop this coming Tuesday. Just south of $5,000.00USD. And this with a 1996 XJS 4.0L Celebration with only 54,000 two-owner miles. Just small stuff - a a lot of it. I'll list what was done as an update on one of my earlier Threads.

Not bad but not good. Im going to spend a few more dollars this year, but its worth it, and mine has about 200k miles on it, so the spending never ends.
