Default Hub stuck in carrier assembly

I’m replacing the rear wheel bearings and I thought from previous posts my trouble would be getting the the hub off the spindle. However that slide right out. Now I’ve been trying to get the hub out of the carrier assembly but it won’t nudge. I’ve been trying to hammer it out from the inside with a large impact socket fitted to the rear of the hub, but the dang thing won’t move. It seems like it should come out fairly easily. I don’t see anyone else having this issue in posts. Seems like most people have difficulty getting the half shaft out, mine immediately dropped after removing the castle nut. Am I missing something? I can’t figure out a way to hook up a puller. I tried reinstalling on the car, but it just ends up pushing the spindle in.

I think we used a hydrolic press when we did ours as it's a workshop fitting. Good luck

Once the driveshaft is out of the hub, the only thing holding the hub in the aluminium hub carrier are the two bearings. Your inner hub bearing inner race must be the problem, as it is only this that prevents the hub from falling out of the hub carrier, once the driveshaft is removed.

This photo shows the inside of the hub and carrier:

The steel pointer is on the hub tube and the blue line shows the inner hub bearing inner race.

I think it would be worth trying this:
There is space between the hub/wheel stud outer flange and the aluminium casting. Place the work on a Black and Decker workmate deck and wind the wooden deck in so it is between the hub flange and the carrier casting, more or less gripping it. Hub/wheelstud flange downwards.
Then selecting a suitable piece of steel tube NOT WIDER than the hub tube (so it is NOT against the bearing inner) hit the steel tube hard with a FBH. A few whacks and the tube willl come out of the bearing and fall on the floor. It won't do the workmate any good mind!

I ended up dropping it off at my mechanic this morning (just the assembly). I whacked away at that thing all weekend. I didn't use the workmate though, which I have and would have been way smarter than what I was trying. Thanks for the response, hopefully they can press it out easier than my primitive attempts>.
