Default i may have a parts car

so I was having a bad miss could not figure it out . pulled the dist and the gear in the motor is stripped. Any one ever heard of this? So the big question do I take off the front of the motor to pull shaft or call it quits and part her out? lets see what people think.

You do have to pull the front of the engine to get the jackshaft out. I would say it depends more on your passion for ownership. If the car is worth saving, even if you put a new timing chain tensioner, chain, rebuild water pump, and gaskets would be less than 1000.00. If you have to pay to have it done, fagetabouit.

well after sleeping on it I think ill start pulling it down .Like I said I have a parts car so I have to do this job twice. But I guess She is worth it.I guess if any one else has a miss they can't figure out they should look at this jack shaft problem.
