Default I may sale my black coupe 1994 XJS V12 or 1996 convertible

Thank you for reading

Before posting them for sale I would like to know what they are worth

I’m not 100# sure - and excited about the idea of selling them but i don’t drive them enough

the Coupe car has 11237 original miles ( 3 owners ) actually ,it belonged to an older couple - the husband bought it for his ( wife then he passed away the wife inherited it and my self - it’s black with ivory Interior -
I have all the service record - it’s a California car

I love it and rarely drive it due to my work and the fact that I have other cars - how much do you think its worth? Her name is Laura

or

selling my black 1996 black convertible with 12xxx original miles but not sure where to sale it either and for how much ? Her name is Lily

im a very private person so Craig’s list is out of the question and of course no dealers I despise them

The auction results will give you an idea of market value: https://bringatrailer.com/jaguar/xjs/

In some ways the low mileage is a liability, as a future owner won't really want to use the cars and add to the mileage.

Would you be open to the major car auction houses? You've got a bunch nearby.

The 94 coupe at such low mileage should do well at a live auction. As a collectible it will draw more interest if it is all original (looks like original 94 wheels), functional and undamaged (i.e. the front air dam). A good detail and a trip to a genuine high-end auto auction would probably bring a very good price in that venue.

Otherwise, the collectible buyers market is pretty thin and would require national exposure. Even so, collectors won't necessarily know they want it. But once they see the car in front of them on the auction block, and see how gorgeous it is, and its now or never, magic can happen. Sometimes. So bring the car to the collectors.

Same for the 96, in general. Bring them both in. Some are looking for a collectable six, some are looking for a V12. Or both!

I would make you a cash deal on Lily right now as she's the **ONLY** model XJS I would even consider owning and even the right colors! A BLACK vert!!

But what I could offer would be a total insult so I won't even mention it.

Man those are gorgeous! Probably the nicest I've seen. Knock a few points for the leaper and incorrect wheels but I think you can get top dollar for them and if you're not in a hurry the right buyer will come along. I'd make you an offer too but I have sworn off black cars. Good luck!

Lovely cars! I'm sure you'll get good money if you sell them.

Lose the leaper and fit the correct wheels on the convertible, and you've got a very desirable car!

Good luck

Thank you
regarding the very low offer , I will definitely pass on it - but thank you

as far as the wheels they came with the car and according to the original seller were installed by the dealer - I guess I should verify that a bit more in detail but honestly these 16’ are perfect not a curb rash

I’m not a Jaguar expert but a Jaguar lover but the original owner was a true gentleman and we are still in touch - I bought this car from him many years ago and we are still in touch -

I do have the original wheels and had polished recently - they are still wrapped in plastic - if I keep the car I may put on on new tires and swap wheels if you recall I recently inquire about tires on this forum

the original top is in perfect condition and my next project is to steam clean the headliner

So you know the XJS AJ6 wears the original tires on it old of course but perfectly fine not cracked but not suited for long distance - but I don’t do long distance -or fast driving- I have other cars for that - I have all five original tires

the car is always covered and only maintained by a master Jaguar mechanic in Los Angeles - no Jiffy Lube here 😄 all fluids recently changed

The XJS-V12 was maintained by Jaguar of Sherman Oaks until they closed the place down, and since then RMD Jaguar in North Hollywood-has taken over no jiffy Lube here either -

The car has ,I believe 10237 miles or maybe 10327 not sure I would have to check - the off white ivory leather is in perfect condition for the age ( I’m just very finicky)

Tires were replaced 5 years ago and only have around 1700 miles on them

Headliner ,radiator extension tank ,all spark plugs and wires were also replaced a few years ago
All fluids also replaced - Ac was recently serviced

Couple of few things I need to fix : the cluster light bulb dash board and the trunk needs new struts I think that is what they are called

I detail my cars myself three times a year with the finest products - and all my cars are always covered .

I like the leaper it’s not a deal breaker for me as I have never entered a contest although I may take first place

all cars were inspected and insured at the highest value possible -

I love this forum and it’s members I may sale the V12 but not interested in low ball offer

I do follow the market 👋😀🥳

thanks for reading

Terry,

If your 96 4 litre (its an AJ16, not an AJ6) is still wearing its original tyres, I'd politely suggest you should absolutely change them straight away. IMO. they are really not safe after 26 years, irrespective of the mileage covered.

And if they are the Pirelli P600 tyres that Jaguar fitted to UK cars at the time, even more reason to change them. They are prone to invisible cracking at the joint of the tread block to the carcass. I couldn't see any cracks on mine until the tyres were removed from the rims and then they just fell apart. An accident waiting to happen.

Your tyres are the only thing connecting you to the road. Please stay safe and change them.

These would have been the correct wheels for a 96. Obviously a dealer would change wheels to whatever the customer wanted, same as they would add leapers, rub guards etc. Doesn't mean it's correct though!
