I want a V12 project, possibly down to the rebuild. Things to consider?

I'd probably go for a 2.5 as well. A big part of the fun for me (and many here) is the 'bringing back to life' process.
A #3 is usually the smartest buy, though, when you can find one. Lots of cash and effort already expended to sort 'all the usual issues'...cash and effort that is re-sold for maybe 20 cents on the dollar .

If you buy an xjs with the intention of dropping the front and rear suspension for a full overhaul and doing the v as recommended then buying a car with these done or part done needs thinking about. I didn't care what condition these items were in because I am renewing them anyway. Prefer to do them myself for peace of mind. Pay more for one that had them done only 10000 miles ago? No thanks. Prefer to start from scratch. That's assuming you have the time and plan to keep it. Or if like me part of the ownership is recommissioning the car. Just my two pennath.
