Idler pulley

I have a NIB (EAC8097) jockey pulley that I have listed on eBay several times and nobody seems to want these things. I gave up and put it in a box somewhere in the shop. (someday I'll find it and list it again) You might try to press the bearing out and get it matched at a bearing supplier or read the number and call for a cross reference.

The bearing on my idler is very dry and noisy. Easy enough to pull the arm off but do not how the bearing was retained. Does anyone know if it is just a forced press fit?
In teh interim, I did pull the bearing dist covers and load it with grease an replaced the cover. Quieter so far.
Appreciate any thoughts.

I bought a new bearing at the local generic parts house, took my pulley in, went through their stock. I do have the number, I'll post it later today.
I gently heated the old bearing to soften the plastic, then pressed it out, while the plastic was still subtle, i gently pressed in the new one.
COST ME SIX BUCKS!!
Woo Hoo! Been in my car for over a month of regular driving, not one issue.
Number to come soon, just gotta go to my shop and find the box.

Idler Pulley replacement bearing
Okay, I have a 97' XK8, I'm not sure if Jaguar uses the same Idler Pulley in all their models, so this information is based on my experience.
The replacement bearing I bought for $6 was a "Motor City Bearings and Seals" Part number SL-203-FF
I hope it's the same for you, most local places will let you look at several choices, I know my local people so well they let me dig through the shelves in the back of the store.
Good luck! In my opinion...worst case scenario, you ruin a pulley you needed to replace anyway.
